TMD Synergy Africa has advised farmers to adopt technology to tackle the problem of odour and flies in fish, poultry and pig farming in Nigeria. The Chief Executive Officer, TMD Synergy Africa, Mr. Victor Nwufoh, disclosed this at a press briefing in Lagos. Nwufoh advised farmers to welcome the use of technology emphasising that it would help fish, poultry and pig farmers. He said the use of chemicals, growth hormones and medicines which are pioneering produce that radically improve animal health generate opportunities that can enhance livestock farming in Nigeria. “Introducing Natural Clean product to animals’ diets has been proven to significantly improve the digestive tract health and immune system and it is a natural alternative for antibiotics and growth promoters used in animal diets sector,” he said. Highlighting the advantages of technology to fish farming, Nwufoh said the adoption of it would diminish the price of feeds more than 30 per cent; reduce or eliminate need for antibiotics.
He maintained that the importance of technology in poultry farming would increase egg laying production so that bigger eggs with big yolks and well-built egg shell are laid; significant improvement in animal health and welfare; lower animal mortality rates and increase production yields with lower costs. Nwufoh informed that TMD Synergy Africa is collaborating with the Lagos State government on introducing the technology to farmers, stressing that the aim of the collaboration is tailored towards changing fish, poultry and pig farming to organic farming without affecting quantity and quality in production. He said the adoption of the technology by farmers in the state would help in achieving the aim of the food security policy of the government and ensure improvement in the agricultural value chain, especially in areas of fish, poultry and pig farming.
“Natural Clean Farming Technology is all natural, probiotic based and animal supplements, which is already being utilised by farmers around the world to improve the health of fish, poultry and pigs. We are delighted to be officially bringing the technology to Lagos and Nigeria,” Nwofoh said.
He clarified that it is applicable also to snail, pig and livestock farming, adding that it allows for farming in crowded urban cities like Lagos without complaints from community.
